On The Dragon Sovereignty and the "New World Order."

"How to love without a trace of dissent
I'll buy the torture 'cos you pay for the rent
Tied high with a broken command
You're all alone to the promised land"

---Ministry, "N.W.O"

The one thing that appears to have bothered people about the concept of the "Dragon Sovereignty" more than anything else is that the claimants (Nicholas de Vere, Michel Lafosse via Laurence Gardner) were trying to use their connection with the old Grail bloodlines to gain positions of influence in the world today. (As least, Lafosse claimed this until the forgeries of his birth certificate and passport were exposed; de Vere just seems to have vanished from the public eye of his own accord.)

The Dragon is said to be one of the original symbols of the Elven "Grail" families, who are sometimes referred to as the "Dragon Court" in certain places on the web. There was the Imperial and Royal Dragon Court and Order formed by Sigismond of Luxembourg in 1408. Though it has gone down in history as a chivalric order whose goal was the defense of Christianity, Laurence Gardner claims it was an attempt at a "front organization" for the Elven bloodlines, while de Vere claims they simply took the name and tried to claim a tenuous spiritual connection with the "true" Dragon Court and Order. Whatever the case, some of the groups that have sprung up around the concept of the Dragon Sovereignty over the past few decades have also adopted the name, claiming at least spiritual if not direct descent from the original Order.

Conspiracy theorists have come forward to claim among other things, that the Dragon Court is part of the "New World Order" or are affiliated with "The Illuminati" who are running things in secret, when if anything they'd be more representative of an "Old World Order." If Gardner and de Vere are to be believed, the various entities in the Dragon Court(s) have not held very much power since they were persecuted and disenfranchised during Middle Ages. The confusion arises when people claim a connection with the Elven/Draconic bloodlines to in an attempt to gain social or political power in the present day.

Certain alarmists have attributed all sorts of fiendish atrocities to the various incarnations of the Dragon Court. I believe that David Icke is still trying to claim that Laurence Gardner is some sort of man-eating reptile, for example. Gardner and de Vere claim that this is all very similar to what the Roman Church was saying about the Grail peoples back during the Middle Ages. If that's the case, then apparently some of that negative PR is still with us.

If the New World Order actually exists as an organizational entity (and not just a buzzword to describe the people who are said to be a part of it by outside critics) the past eight years have shown us that their agenda is not so much the practice of black magic and the sacrifice of babies to Satan, but gaining and maintaining political and economic power at the expense of everyone else. It's easy to whip people up into a moral panic about satanists and terrorists and reptilian overlords, but what about the very real threat of ecological and economic collapse, thanks to the political mismanagement of those whose only concern is themselves, their lobbyists, and their corporate backers?

Modern humanity seems to have an odd double-standard about people in positions of power, particularly here in the West. On one hand, we pay lip service to the idea of democracy, and the idea that every person should be in command of their own destiny, and how we all deserve the same opportunities to shape that destiny; on the other hand, we seem to be mesmerized by celebrities and powerful people. We regularly allow those who have lots and lots of money to do things that the rest of us would never be able to get away with, just so long as they can keep the trains running on time and our day-to-day lives aren't being overly impacted by their greed and duplicity. The thing is, we are being impacted by it. We're always being impacted by it, even if we don't always realize it.

But would a return to the "Old World Order" be any better? The fact that Nicholas de Vere has denounced the idea of democracy as a scam, and has been quoted as saying that "ordinary" people are incapable of governing themselves and require a King of the Draconic/Elven bloodlines to set them straight has been, shall we say, "problematic" to say the least - particularly to those who believe in a sinister "Dragon Conspiracy."

Another problem appears to be that Nicholas de Vere claims that his family is the "only" true bloodline going back through the Royal Scythians to the ancient Priest-Kings of the Anunnaki, but I have run into several people over the past fifteen years going all the way back to my "Elven" friend in high school who claim to be of the Draconic bloodlines. Considering all of the people in the world who can trace their descent back to the Angevins alone (possibly myself included) that number could be in the thousands. I've seen testimonials on more than one occasion from people who either say they are of the Draconic bloodlines, or that they've heard of the Bloodlines' existence since they were children - but who then go on to denounce both Nicholas de Vere and Laurence Gardner as frauds who are attempting to capitalize on something to which they have no rightful claim.

Leaders of any stripe are really just hirelings ruling by mandate of the people. If they aren't serving well, that mandate can and should be revoked. But just because our elected officials have failed us recently, does that mean we should travel back in time to ancient Sumer, pluck the Priest-Kings off their ziggurats, and reinstate them as our Divine Overlords? I for one don't think so.

Bill Barckley, the late webmaster of the now-defunct website www.dragoncourt.org, had this to say on the matter; and this is what has resonated the most with me over the past five years:

"The Dragon Court stands in direct opposition to all hierarchical structures of power, including world government. For all of recorded history society has been structured as a hierarchical system with a few elites at the top possessing all power. The effect of this pyramidal system of power has been that the bulk of humanity have been forced into ignorance, superstition and slavery. The ignorance and superstition worked in the elites favor and propped up the system. Life was brutish, cruel, and short for most of history. This system of power remains in force and for most life remains brutish, cruel, and short.

The idea of an Earthly Paradise in which men should live together in a state of brotherhood, without laws and without brute labor, has haunted the human imagination for thousands of years. With the advent of the machine and technology the hopeless idea of an Earthly Paradise had finally become a possibility. To the elites at the top of the pyramid of power, human equality, justice, individual freedom - the fabled Earthly Paradise - was no longer an ideal to be striven after but a danger to be avoided at all costs. Why? The answer is simple, the elites would lose their power over others."

I think it's perfectly possible to preserve the wisdom and history of the Elven peoples without further participating in a broken system crippled by greed, or regressing to an outdated, paternalistic system of the past. The point is for those of us on this planet Earth to keep progressing and evolving as a global society; to learn to take responsibility for ourselves, our own actions, our own destinies, and our own lives, and not to depend on any one monarch or group of politicians to do it for us.

As for the conspiracy theories surrounding the "Dragon Sovereignty," I feel that the best metaphor ever might have been in a dream I had recently. In this dream, my mother and I were at a restaurant where a very controversial person who was said to practice satanism was eating. Everyone was so preoccupied with the presence of the satantist (who was just there enjoying his meal and not bothering anyone) that they failed to notice the thief in the parking lot who was breaking into people's cars. It's very, very easy to frighten people with a boogeyman in order to get them to react the way you want them to, so that they will ignore cases of mundane all-too-human evil which are happening right in their midst. I think this is exactly what the "New World Order" has been doing.

There are sites out there who claim that the Dragon bloodlines are descended from fallen angels, that it is a "satanic" bloodline. Nicholas de Vere has also been quoted as saying that the term "Satan" (which means "adversary") originated to define the role of the prosecutor in ancient Hebrew legal tribunals, and that no one in their right mind would worship lawyers. If that's the case, would a "satanic" bloodline be descended from lawyers? Unless this might get me a discount off tuition into law school, I don't see how it would impact my life at all in the present day. Either that, or those of the Draconic bloodlines were created to test the defenses of computer networks, which is a subject for a whole other article entirely. (It might also help explain my affinity for the FreeBSD operating system.)

"Look, strange women lying on their
backs in ponds handing out swords ...
that's no basis for a system of government.
Supreme executive power derives
from a mandate from the masses,
not from some farcical aquatic ceremony."
